There is a lot of hard work and planning that goes into managing a business’s multiple social media accounts. Not only do you need to post consistent content that represents the brand, but you also have to keep up with social media trends and updated features.
While trying to balance all of these factors, there will be times when you run out of ideas for social media posts.
Luckily, repurposing content is the perfect solution for this problem. It allows you to post fresh content without having to think of some revolutionary new idea.
What Does It Mean to ‘Repurpose Content’?
Repurposing content is recycling existing content and turning it into a new social media post. For instance, you might take a blog post on your company website and repurpose that into an infographic on social media.
Think of it this way: music producers will sample an existing song and give it another life in a completely different-sounding song. Marketing managers do the same thing by taking older content and presenting it in a fresh, new way!
Our team at Sweet Rose Studios manages multiple social media accounts for multiple businesses. It can be very time-consuming to sit and think of brand new content when we are scheduling new posts.
Repurposing content helps us get content out there fast, but also gives an opportunity to emphasize certain parts of the content that may have been overlooked the first time.
What Are The Benefits of Repurposing Content?
Saves Time
One of the first and most important benefits of repurposing content is that it saves time. It can sometimes take several hours to come up with a schedule of new social media posts and ideas. With repurposed content, you spend less time putting posts together.
Helps Maintain Consistency
If you are brainstorming ideas and nothing comes up, it may be tempting to just scrap it altogether and not post anything. By ignoring your social media completely, you risk turning into a dead social media channel – which is NOT what you want.
By repurposing content, you can stay consistent while also maintaining your brand’s reliability.
Keeps Your Brand Fresh
To continue off of the last point, brand consistency is super important across social media. By posting more often, your brand will continue to show up on people’s feeds. Your brand will be fresh in their minds – even if the content isn’t something new.
What Are Examples of Repurposing Content?
We’ve repurposed content for a handful of our clients and saw great results. Repurposing content allows us to emphasize something on social media that may have been overlooked on the site.
Testimonials
LaffCo. Painting is a painting company based in the Philadelphia suburbs. LaffCo. has a ton of testimonials on the site and on their Google profile. We made use of these reviews and repurposed one into a social media post.

By doing so, we were able to emphasize a review that may have gotten ignored on the site or buried somewhere on Google.
Infographics from a Product Page
One of our clients, Mainstream, is an air handling systems and equipment manufacturer. When it came time to publish some new social media posts, we worked together to create infographics from one of their main product pages.
Infographics are a great way to present information – especially repurposed content. If you can turn it into a colorful graphic, it’s guaranteed to get some engagement. We used Canva to create multiple graphic posts from this product page and scheduled them for social media.
Blog Post Spin-Offs
We encourage most of our clients to have a blog on their site to show their audience that they are a trusted source in their field.
Another benefit to having a blog is that it becomes a source for social media posts when it comes time to repurpose content. In this example, our client, Ceramic Bride, repurposed one of their blog posts into multiple social media posts.

Turning Photos Into Fun and Creative Reels
You would think that our photo booth company, Twinkle Photo Booth always has new content ready to go from all of the new photos from each event. However, posting the same type of pictures can get boring and repetitive.
Instead of posting the same photo galleries from the events, our team gets creative and uses these photos as a part of a fun and engaging Instagram and TikTok reel. What could have been a simple picture instead turned into an exciting video accompanied by music and graphics.
