Regular newsletters are a quick, effective way to re-engaging customers. It’s a built-in base of people who have already expressed interest and possibly a need for your product, and want to keep up with your business.
Since this can be an effective way of getting conversions, it’s important to follow a few important steps towards doing it right by delivering information that is useful, appealing, and easy to digest.
When done right, a regular newsletter establishes a voice for your brand, and keeps returning customers excited about your product or at the very least, it should help them remember your name when they are in need of a product you offer.
Follow a few simple steps towards boosting client engagement and encouraging your customer base to return to your brand!
Establish Regularity
Deliver your newsletter on a regular basis so your customers remember you’re there, and know when to expect an update. Know how many people are reading each of your newsletters, and establish a frequency for newsletters based on how many customers are taking the time to open and read your emails.
Be Consistent
In addition to being consistent with time, keep the style and layout of your newsletters as regular as possible. Help your customers know what to expect from your brand when it comes to style, font, and layout.
Use small images to create appeal and help your readers remember your message, but don’t overwhelm them with images. If you are telling a story, as a landscaping client of ours, Garrett Churchill, recently told about a patio they designed and built for a local home, include a small image of the new patio, like they did in their latest newsletter.
Don’t include so many images that readers don’t know where to look save those for the blog, where readers are looking a bit more deeply, and perhaps considering the new patio they’d like in their backyard, and give them the option to look through images if they are interested.
Prove Yourself … Again
With every newsletter you send out, you’ll have to prove yourself all over again. So keep your newsletters personalized and digestible, and make readers feel involved in your brand.
In case they must, include an “unsubscribe” button that’s easy to find. If it isn’t readily accessible, readers who are no longer interested will report you as spam, which comes at a higher cost!
Newsletters should be quick and helpful, including useful content for your customers. Good newsletter content can go a long way in helping you re-engage inactive or parked customers, so stay in touch and remind your customers why they should trust your brand!
